Life's Meaning & Purpose?

I hear this quite a bit, “knowing one’s life has meaning and purpose.” Can someone define this for me.
 
“The absolute knowledge that one’s existence will have a lasting impact on the world, whether it be through a discovery, heroic act, act of power, or simply through a child”

For me, life’s meaning and purpose is to start a family, and to do my best to raise them in God’s Truth so that they may eventually achieve eternity with Him. Anything else, work, games, etc. are just a means to an end.
 
I have been thinking about why we are here in general. I remembered my Religion teacher mentioned the Greek word “Liturgia” which is where we get our word for liturgy. It means to till and keep. This is saying how Adam and Eve worshipped God in Eden. By keeping everything in balance. This is why God made man. Not only out of love, but also to keep things in balance. Someone to take care of the Earth. Obviously, we haven’t done a very good job. To wrap it up, I think our purpose in life is to serve God by doing His will.
 
To know, love and serve God in this world in order to be happy with Him forever in heaven.

For everyone the reality of God’s will, what exactly it is we have to do in order to serve him, is different.

I tell my teenagers: Pray to know His will. The prayer will also lead to greater love, as does the reception of the sacraments. Knowing Him is accomplished through prayer, scripture reading, lives of the saints.

In the morning a little prayer just to do His will for* today*, is sometimes enough to help during a busy, crazy time in your life.

You might not know much until eternity, eh, but if you are faithful in all those little things you are doing it all right.
