Christ is born!

Light of the East is showing right now on EWTN TV, in SF area at least.

I don’t see a repeat time listed.
Frs. Mike Sopoliga and Joseph Bertha discuss preparing for Christmas in the Byzantine tradition. Such traditions include fasting till the Messiah comes, the Holy Supper and Midnight Mass. Fr. Sopoliga sings the Christmas Tropar.

Well, good fortune that I happened to have it on in the background when it ended. They are now selling the DVD version of the series.

In this series Frs. Mike Sopoliga and Joseph Bertha do a good job of a* basic* introduction to the Eastern Churches. The program used to air weekly on EWTN, cycling through the whole series over and over. Years ago they switched to airing sections of the series during appropriate times of the year, and stopped airing the program weekly and ceased selling the VHS tapes, which I managed to find a used copy of. It’s been a long time coming but they have it on DVD now.
