We are called to be a “light to the World”. There is also the scripture that says that we should not hide our light under a bushel.

Do we as humans ever generate light ourselves, or is it always a reflection of the light of Christ. John 1 talks about Christ being the life and light of the world, which would seem to suggest that we reflect light.

There is probably some definition of terms needed here as to what is “light”, “the light of Christ” and perhaps how this differs from the Holy Spirit.

But anyway, does anyone have any thoughts ?

Kindest regards,

Hal.

Christ is the “brightness of God’s glory” and he is inside us. Thus the light is generated by Christ. The light idea in their culture often has to do with seeing life in the eyes. So, we act more like an lens of a lighthouse thus that part is refracted.
