I am a convert. It was in Corona, Calif. that a Monsenior showed me a chart he used for instruction classes.

It showed all those Protestant denominations starting after 1540.And all the founders are now dead.

Then at the bottom it showed the Catholic Church being started by Jesus Christ. Read Matt 16: 27-29. Jesus Christ siad to Peter,“Upon this Rock I will build my Church”.

THAT DID IT FOR ME…I am glad you found that too! It’s the real deal!

Orthodox are in communion with Peter, and Paul, James, John, Andrew and all the rest of the Apostles, indeed with all of the church triumphant and militant. Our unity is in our faith and in the mystery of the Eucharist, which along with our baptism into Christ’s death and resurrection, unites us with all Orthodox Catholics throughout all the ages in the body of Christ 🙂

God bless,
John.
I agree in the supernatural order of things the ORthodox and Catholic churches are united and are the only churches that can give all of the superantural graces that Christ gave the church.
However at a human level there is schism mainly on the Role of Bishop of Rom in the universal church.
We were united at the beginning of the church and before it is all said and done we will be again united so in the supernatural order of time we are not sepearted however in the present time on earth we are sepearted.

I think I had another affirmation today. I’ve been attending Mass but also services at the ELCA church where my family belongs. So I get to the 9:30 service today and there is NO SERVICE (it’s usually very traditional and somewhat weak copy of a Catholic Mass). Instead they have a “Praise Musical” complete with an overhead projector and pictures to accompany the music. I must say it was quite lovely and I would have enjoyed it as a concert. However, no praying, no creeds, no sermon, no communion just a choir and a band for 1 hour and 15 minutes. The only good thing about this is that my husband is so opposed to this stuff (being a traditionalist) that everytime something like this happens he gets irritated and say, “I think I’m going to become Catholic.” I don’t know if he ever will but I’m starting to pray about it. 😃

That is not what I said and I certainly don’t agree with it. Probably best if we leave it at that.

John.

This is my first post on the forum but I’ve been reading for months. I’ve been contemplating becoming Catholic for years now and have read just about every apologetics book out there, still I have kept resisisting. However, I just had one of those aha moments when you just KNOW what you already knew. It all comes down to this (for me).

Who founded the Lutheran Church? Martin Luther
Who founded the Methodist Church? John Wesley
LDS? Joseph Smith
Christian Science? Mary Baker Eddy
Islam? Mohammed

and on and on and on. Every religion out there was founded by someone right?

Who founded the Catholic Church? Did any one SPECIFIC person say they were founding the Catholic Church (other than Jesus)?

I don’t know why I never thought of this before, I must be an idiot. Glad I finally decided to start RCIA.
Glad to hear it:clapping:

Go ahead kick the tires and take it for a spin but don’t believe everything you hear. check it against Scripture and the catechism, EWTN is helpfull too. Good luck:tiphat:
