Likelihood of "radio using" extraterrestrial life...a different approach

Why? Are you requiring every form to have exactly our propensities and abilities? I know someone who’s daughter can tell if an electronic device in the house is on or off when she is outside on the other side of the barn. Dogs have been shown to know when their masters leave for home from a random place at at random time. And “oil” can be made from so many things by other processes such as one just discovered by some kid. What about solar or magnetic energy, or biomanipulations of chemical processes leading to electrical phenomenon, starting with observations of bioluminescence. AVATAR anyone?
Which also begs the question, why would some people want to get techy if they are spiritually connected to God and Nature, have food, water, shelter, and music?

The history of the science can be seen as a history of the invention of new materials. DaVinci lacked materials to put in practice his ideas. With no oil our best engine would have been the water engine, and with no coal not even that. Using only the water engine can you develop a technology to make oil etc? It looks the whole deal might be to expensive.
I don’t think we have any hidden capabilities. For this world, our body does the job.
