But your argument pretty much means that every soul would desire God (due to its nature) and thus every unbaptized infant or preborn person would go to heaven.Here is where we part company: the soul is a creation of God and, as such, is immortal. Since it is a unique spiritual entity interwoven with the physical body at any stage, it still would desire God due to its nature.The soul depends on the body and vice versa. The Church believes in infant baptism even though it might appear that babies do not have the psychological ability to desire God. If aborted babies are considered martyrs, then they merit heaven because they themselves desire God (baptism of desire) because they are ensouled with the image of God.
You seem to think that the possibility of separation from God occurs only when the person gets to the age of reason and dabbles in personal sin. But this theory totally disregards the Catholic doctrine of original sin!
