Is Limbo in or out? In the Catechism of Trent (“Roman Catechism”) it is in, but it is not mentioned in the new “Catechism of the Catholic Church.” Has the Church changed its position? Can it change it? How do we know if “Limbo” is a tradition with a capital “T” or a tradtion with a little “t”.?
 
Im not really sure.

We will have to wait until the Church makes a declaration or document of some kind.

That being said, I think limbo was always speculation.

Limbo has always been theological speculation, so Benedict will not be saying it is no longer a teaching of the Church, or doctrine, or anything like that – so don’t wait for that announcement. I am looking at the Catechism of Trent, Limbo is NOT there that I can see. It does say infants have no other means of salvation, which is still all we know today because that is all God has revealed to us. What has been added is that we trust in God’s mercy for those unbaptized.

Limbo of the Children is in limbo for the time being. You can accept it or not. However you cannot hold that unBaptized infants are without a doubt in Heaven and you cannot believe that they are in the Hell of the damned suffering the same fate.

Do you believe a loving God would send an unbaptised baby to hell?:confused:

Do you believe in holding God hostage–to our own wants. God did not reveal to us what happens to the unbaptised. We do entrust them to Him----but we cannot add words to revealed Truth.
