Well I’m not usually one to download music, however I’m wondering - is it okay to use LimeWire or to Share Files? No one is making a profit - but it still isn’t encouraging everyone to own their own is it…?

I would think that the morality would be linked to the legality. Has the artist made the the files open domain? Or are they copyrighted?

If copyright is being broken, then it is immoral.

I used to really enjoy downloading copyrighted works, but when I heard it was stealing to take these works without paying I stopped. It was difficult, but it led me in a knew direction and I did better things with my time. Now I am happy I made the choice. It will be hard to stop, but you can do it.

I haven’t downloaded copyrighted works - I was just asking whether it would be morally acceptable to download or listen to the music on LimeWire. Since no one is making money off of it.

I understand. I thought it could be inspiration to others.
