Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington dead at 41

That’s truly shocking. RIP. 😦

I’m not a big fan of LP or anything. I got introduced to them through the Transformers films and have heard really only those songs.
 
I was a big fan of Linkin Park in the 2000’s, they were the first band I considered myself a fan of. It’s very shocking that this happened. Reports say Mr. Bennington was very depressed over the death of his dear friend, Chris Cornell, who was the former lead in the Grunge band Soundgarden, and it’s very probable this is the reason for his suicide. 😦 Mr. Bennington was even the Godfather to one of Cornell’s children, they were Greek Orthodox Christians it seems. Both were amazing artist. I hope they have found peace with God in his abode. :crossrc:
 
Generally, it is indeed the rule that those who commit suicide do not get an Orthodox funeral, but many Orthodox bishops do give permission for it because many recognize that those who commit suicide are usually not in the best mental state. I’m not sure if Mr. Cornell was given a religious Orthodox funeral, but it’s certainly a possibility in the case of both.

I knew Cornell was Orthodox, I did not know Bennington was. Rest in peace, both of them
 
This is a strange one, he seemed to be pretty successful, but it did say he struggled with alcohol and drugs and the day being Chris Cornells suicide anniversary, I think had something to do with it.

The TMZ article i read, said he had scheduled plans later in the day, so that is strange, I wonder if there is any investigation or if its just an open and shut suicide.

July 20th is the Day of Friendship in Argentina, and a friend I didn’t see for like 4 or 5 years, called me and said if we could dinner that night. In the car he told me he was listening to Chris Cornell, I told him I was listening to Linkin Park those days.
The following day I went with my dad to Lujan, a center of pilgrimage in Argentina.
In the coffee shop the song Numb was playing in the radio. What a coincidence, I thought. The video for that song is in a church and there are images of the Virgin.
I bought a picture of the Divine Mercy in Lujan.
When we returned home I posted the Numb video in Facebook.
In the comments section of Youtube I found out the singer commited suicide. I knew nothing.
I prayed a Divine Mercy Chaplet for him. What a coincidence, I thought. It even seems scripted.
Not very much later, I learned he was a friend of Chris Cornell. That he prayed for him when he died. And that Chris Cornell’s birthday is July 20th. The Day of Friendship in Argentina.
