Did you read my post from last night about the Christmas article over on the Society’s page? Funny, funny stuff.

I gotta get going. I’m taking a CAF break tomorrow and this weekend to visit my grandparents. I was hoping to stick around long enough to see some activity from our friend but unfortunately (Last Activity: Yesterday 7:43 pm) so what a bummer. Maybe he’s gotten bored with us or he’s still boiling about dealing with yessian. 🙂

BTW, I’m meeting an ex-jw (who is a fader) for lunch this Saturday. I can’t reveal much to protect his privacy. Wish me luck.

Except that the trinity is in the bible…I and the father are one. No one comes to the father except throught me… In the beginning God created the earth…In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God…I will send you a comforter…

Just because the word “Trinity” is not found in Scripture does not mean that it is not a Scriptural concept.

When I left I began exploring if there were any other Christian religions who didn’t believe in the trinity. I came across a few, like the Unitarians, but none resonated for me. I chose the local Baptist church… They didn’t seem to be entrenched in a whole lot of doctrines. I felt I could be kind of anonymous there after all the over involvement at the kingdom hall. I still wanted to worship God. So I decided I’d join a local Baptist church and just keep a low spiritual profile.

Before I took “the right hand of fellowship,” I had to attend membership classes. The instructors were very adept at explaining the trinity and pointing out materials from the Early Church Fathers to show that they, too, believed the trinity. These were some of the same men Watchtower publications quoted to support that the Ante-Nicene Fathers did not believe the trinity in their publications. I realized the Watchtower isolated quotes and misrepresented these men. So, I became convinced that the trinity was true.
She eventually came home to Rome. Perhaps your mother will also.

No, Unitarians formed in the late 18th/early 19th Century, The Unification Church formed in the 1950’s after Korean Sun Myng (spell?) Moon (hence “moonies”) had a “vision” where he learned he (natch) was the messiah.

Q: What do you get when you cross a Unitarian with a Jehovah’s Witness?

A: Someone who goes door to door with nothing to say.

Faith in Jesus Christ implies all that has been revealed about him, including that he is True God and True Man, 2nd person of the blessed trinity, in relationship with God the Father and with the Holy Spirit, in short, the forumula of the Nicene Creed. Any faith that dismisses any or all of the revealed truth about Jesus rejects Him entirely, even though they may claim to honor his life, teaching, gospel.

This is why the CC says Mormons and JWs aren’t considered Christians. You need to believe in the Trinity in order to be considered a Christian.
