Hello Trebor,
I might have seen that before. It’s a link worth visiting.

You are more than likely familiar with those ideas that suggest that the Roman Catholic church is both the beast and the Whore of Babylon of the book Revelation, with the pope as the false prophet. Those ideas are popular with Seventh day Adventists and Jehovah’s Witnesses who follow after false prophets.

Have you seen this?

Hi Steve Jay–given the nonsense peddled against the Catholic Church, I feel uneasy linking numbers to people, groups, places, or events. I haven’t seen that site, but who knows?–Muhammad might be the one we can connect to 666.

In a similar vane, you and other readers may find this interesting.

Hello Trevor,
that link is interesting. For me personally it hasn’t told me anything that I don’t know already. I spent about 9 moths posting on an Islamic forum with Muslims. There were other Christians posting there too. I learned a lot as a result of that.
There is on Youtube a number of videos of a former Imam giving lectures. He converted to Christianity. He talks about the number 666 in one of his lectures. There are many things that can translate to 666. The Emperor Nero being one of them. That idea has been carried possibly from the second century. People were curious what chapter 13 of the book of Revelation means and Nero appeared to be the nearest fit. If we follow that through then 666 can be worked out in error to belong to the pope too. That’s if we look at the Roman Empire and use the latin. The book of Revelation was a given in Greek so we have to translate things to the Greek.
The former Imam made an important point. The number of the Beast would come to be worn on the forehead or the the arm. That means the number would have to be important to those who follow the Beast. Islam has two “holy numbers.” One of them is the number 19. The other is 666. Muslims know what the number means. “There is one God Allah and Muhammad is his messenger.” It was carried on headbands and arm bands in the Crusades and is worn in the same way by Islamic Terrorists today.
The Book of Daniel mentions four Beasts. The leopard, the bear, the lion and the Dreadful. We now know what those beasts came to be. They were four empires. Empires have lands. The Roman empire was the Dreadful. So the Dreadful would need to be one of composite Beasts that form the Beast in Revelation 13 if Rome had anything to do with the Beast. Only The first three and not the Dreadful. Islam occupies the lands of the leopard the bear and the lion.

I wonder if there is a forum out there with muslums compiling arguments against christianity. You know, if Jesus was here, he would probably be able to think of many ways to prove those guys wrong…

come on guys, this is what gives catholics a bad rep

Probably. If there is, well… isn’t that their right according to Western law?

May he come back soon and challenge folks like Zakir Naik, Shabir Ally, and Jamal Badawi to a debate. 😛

Really? I (honestly) never heard that before.

In my own life, a Muslim has approached me after an introductory-Islam class, brought up my cross, asked me if I was Christian, and posed questions in a disputatious manner to show me how my religion was supposedly wrong.

Wouldn’t you agree that Christians should be able to respond effectively when confronted with such attacks? I mean, Muslims need to hear the truth.
