Greetings brothers and sisters in Christ!

I have two questions re daily Mass readings.
  1. Are the readings the same worldwide for weekdays and Sundays?
  2. Where could I find a list of readings online? I know they can be found on EWTN etc but it’s a bit of a drag having to check the site every few days.
If it makes any difference, I’m based in Ireland.

God bless!
Noel.

The readings are the same (for practically all, though there might be one or two small differences) but the Scripture versions used for the lectionaries are different

This site will give you a schema with the passage references, though not the actual text. It might be slightly different in some areas from Ireland but overall it will be the same.

I print out a month’s worth of the readings at the first of each month and put them in my daily “tickler file” so it is the first thing I pull out each morning at work and read. It has really been a blessing . . .

Thank you very much indeed AJV. I’ve searched several times for mass readings online but never tried using the word lectionary.

God bless!
Noel.

Thanks IrishAm. God bless.

Of course, the Irish might have a better translation of the Lectionary than we do. Just read Fr. Richard John Neuhaus’ periodic laments about the NAB translations that we use in our lectionary.

Now, the translations from EWTN are probably from the Ignatius Bible, Revised Standard Version.

I don’t know if Ireland has a version of the Magnificat (sold here in the US), but it might help. Although, our feast days and memorials will be slighly different from what the Irish use. For example, Ireland does not have Thanksgiving Day nor do they observe the same memorials that we do.

You might also want to check your diocesan website. Some websites will offer daily and Sunday Mass readings.

I hope this helps.

Here’s a website that has the list of readings for Mass. Daily and Sunday Mass readings are available. The readings are from the JB, which is used in the Lectionary in Ireland.
