  1. Truth is being ignored in favor of good feelings (political correctness) while their policies continue to fail
  2. People who both cheat on their taxes and then vote for more money for social programs. This steals money from those who don’t cheat on their taxes, or those on salary, while sparing taxation from those hypocrites who voted for it and who claimed to want to help people.
  3. U.S. National Education Association is in sore need of a diversity overhaul since the vast majority are registered Democrats.

Why are you exclusively concerned about political ethical issues?

How about the fact that in many parishes, the physically and mentally disabled are excluded from participation?

How about the fact that many Priests refuse to even consider allowing physically disabled to become Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Alter Servers, etc., etc.?

Cheating on taxes is a sin, pure plain and simple. Jesus himself stated that you are required to “Render unto Caesar, that which is Caesars”. That means you are OBLIGATED to pay your just taxes.

Who you choose to vote for is between you and your conscience. There is no necessary injustice involved. The Church does not teach that voting a particular way is a sin.

And the OP contradicts this WHERE? 🤷

I’m not sure that the OP does. However, he does seem to state that persons who cheat on their taxes are also advocating increases in government spending, which seems an unusual claim and certainly one which he doesn’t try to support.

And points 1 and 3 are extremely vague, both in detail and is scope. Are these three issues really important? What is the evidence to support such a claim?

There are plenty of people who enjoy the ego boost by voting to help “the little guy,” then turn around and cheat on their taxes. This is a social injustice. Not only have they cheated those people that they claim to support, but now they have deflected their fair share of the tax burden onto those on salary and those who don’t cheat on their taxes. I’m saying that some people vote because they think they’re helping others, but they don’t realize that they themselves are thieves and hypocrites.

There’s no hypocrisy for those who both pay their taxes honestly and who vote for higher taxes for more govt. programs. They hypocrisy comes from those who vote that way for the free ego boost, then cheat to deflect the burden onto others. To be fair, those who don’t vote for more money for govt. programs cheat on their taxes too. They may be cheaters, but at least they are not hypocrites.

The NEA can’t see that they would be far more successful as teachers if they were conservatives. Kids would rather entertain themselves with media than study. The liberal NEA is in bed with the liberal media. They praise each other for the wonderful jobs they’re doing, yet they’re too inbred and blind to see that many kids go to school because they’re hungry to learn how to score like their “heros” in the media rather than hunger for learning. The NEA fails to get the correct answer. The problem isn’t quality teachers or schools. The problem is an addiction to feelgood pleasurism by the students who have learned from the self-absorbed adult culture. Our childish feelgood culture is breaking families apart. The research shows what this does to kids. If the NEA was smart, they’d do the exact opposite of the media culture. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. It’s almost as if the media is profitting from the whole country’s destruction.

The NEA could be doing far more to teach the economics of business and intellectual capitalism. It would free more people into the world of understanding. It would save many ignorant people from the bitterness they would no longer feel if they understood basic economics. I refuse to beleive that we can’t do better than this. It could be summarized in a short youtube video. IF people were educated, they could live more peacefully by making their own choices instead of having unhealthy bitterness. Keeping people ignorant of these matters almost seems intentional relative to how easy it would be to educate the public.

Isn’t the NEA free to hold any position it wants? What rule says it must be diverse? What rule says Republicans must join?

I suppose if all the states colluded to only hire Republicans to work in the schools from now on, change might be effected from the outside, but this would be illegal, I imagine.

ManOnFire,
I don’t think that you understand that the true purpose of oir government-funded school systems is not education but indoctrination.

You should check put the book The Underground History od American Education, which can be found in full online. It is by John Gatto. (I would link it but it’s hard for me to do on this little ipod, but it’s very easy to find.)

For some irksome reason I’ve always had a difficult time embracing all the nuances that which Jesus implies in that statement. But perhaps too IMHO I may be misunderstanding some of the nuances of these implications.

Sure to some it seems straight forward what Jesus is stating if taken out of context as stated here without Rendering to God what Belongs to God first.

That being said; what if you know the outcome giving or rendering to Caesar will create or make present evil situations worse? Abortion sanctioned by governments comes to the top of the list. And your tax dollars support it; even though that’s not where you want or would like to have your tax dollars spent.

I make the comparison of voting for politicians as voting for one who is the lessor of two evils. Still though both are evil. And yes I know we must pray for our country leaders so they will hopefully make the right choice. However (“No”) politician has ever been on my personal preferences. And sometimes I have such a low esteem with politicians and don’t even know why I’m voting sometimes.

Any thoughts

Conspiracy anyone?

specifically what truth is being denied?

maybe business owners are better represented by Republicans while educators and many other non business owners are best represented by Democrats?

I am struggling to understand your logic in this thread. Bureau of Labor (bls) says teachers make 53-55k (mean) so they would pay little in income taxes. So the cheating would need to be extreme to alleviate the small amount of taxation due. Social security, Medicare, and sales tax would be the primary tax collection for teachers.

I sort of agree. I think the phrase means turn away from money and hold god’s teaching as the higher priority. At that time and place the money would be a gold coin which would have Caesar’s likeness stamped on the coin. The coin would be from Rome, issued by Caesar for Caesar’s people only. By no means should one assume they are to help Caesar eliminate religion or kill innocent people, etc. So give Caesar back his money, and do not desire Caesar’s money.

there is so much wrong with this I don’t know where to start

1… who is they as in “their policies”? and who is ignoring which truth about what

Data referenced in 2 & 3 is confidential so
  1. You have secret knowledge both as to who is cheating on their taxes, and who is voting for more money for social programs of which you disapprove. You came by this knowledge illegally if you have it.
  2. You have access to the membership rolls of the NEA and know for a fact the majority are registered democrations. If you have access to the union membership lists and individual voter registration of specific persons you have also come by the knowledge illegally.
Given that it might very well be true you still have to make a case that being a registered democrat is a bad thing from a social justice POV.

Shouldn’t the en vogue push for diversity apply to the NEA also??? How is it fair that nearly half the country votes for a party, yet a tiny percentage of U.S. teachers are members of that party? Teachers salaries are being paid for by members of this party. Taxpayers of the party are not being adequately represented. It’s not even close. Worst of all, our social problems are the cause of our academic problems, yet the two are in bed together and too myopic to see the problem. So, the public education problem will get worse (unless they artificially inflate the scores again, as in the SAT) Where’s the justice for taxpayers? Where’s the justice for conservative teachers to gain equal employment and representation for the values of conservative taxpayers?

I’m about to sound like a Democrat here, ironically, but I do agree with you that it would be nice if a student in the public schools had a better chance of randomly encountering a variety of political viewpoints from their teachers.

How would you fix this? Have a quota system to hire teachers and other staff based on political viewpoint? Regulate unions more? Make it illegal for teachers to unionize? Put in place some type of protections to make education into a more appealing field for conservatives? How are you going to make there be more Republicans in public education? Maybe most of them don’t like public education as it is.

Indoctrination is not social justice either. Thanks for the info. How many people will be open-minded enough to check it out?

^^^THIS is such a great post because this is the problem with politics: Liberal Politicians get elected by taking the easy way by saying yes to everything. The country is in massive debt. The liberal media is quick to blast conservatives as meanies because they use commone sense, then many people rationalize cheating on taxes to invoke each individual’s own sense of “social justice.” If the average American were educated on basic business economics, there would be more social justice and less misunderstanding. As long as public opinion is created by the mainstream media, bitter misunderstanding will continue.

Lots of truths are being ignored. Which one would you like to discuss?

I’m not talking about teachers cheating on their taxes. I’m talking about the hypocrisy of dems who cheat on their taxes after voting for more money for social programs: they are cheating the very people they passionately desire to help. What’s worse is the tax burden then gets delected onto those on salary or those who don’t cheat on their taxes.

I’m specifically disagreeing with the hypocrites who cheat on their taxes after voting for higher taxes for more social programs. It’s cowardly, yet you don’t hear the mainstream media calling out the hypocrites.

Conservative media announced that the NEA is overwhelmingly registered democrats. It would be fairly easy to subpeona voters registration records in the interest of fairness and diversity if you want to prove it. Taxpayers should have a voice and a right to know. If we’re going to have “fairness,” then it’s certainly not fair that approximately half the country votes republican, pays school taxes, then gets forced to financially support an overwhelming majority of members of a certain party. Where’s the justice? Where’s the media outrage over the unfairness? Or is justice for “just them?” The hypocrisy. It would be different if the system were working well, but liberal teachers won’t speak out about the fact that kids would rather indulge in the distractions of liberal entertainment rather than learn, so were stuck with teachers who are on a gag order not to step on the toes of the liberal entertainment biz. Conservative teachers can see it and would have no problem speaking out against it in order to save our system and our country. THAT would be justice.
