Besides Catholic Answers please list your top 10 catholic websites and why, mine are as follows:

  1. *]New Advent, a plethora of catholic resources, one visit and you’re hooked. newadvent.org/

]Catholic Exchange, forget yahoo or Google. catholicexchange.com/
]Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, William Donohue and his staff are the best at what they do. catholicleague.org/
]St. Charles Borromeo (Picayune, Mississippi), this is the best parish website I have every visited. Loaded with excellent stuff. scborromeo.org/index2.htm
]Crisis Magazine, Deal Hudson’s internet version of the magazine deals with culture, politics and the church. Mag’s are achieved. crisismagazine.com/
]The Bible, Revised Standard Version, excellent search and browse capabilities. etext.lib.virginia.edu/rsv.browse.html

I have found good advice in the marriage issue section. There are several other good areas to browse, and I encourage anyone who has had questions regarding marriage issues or annulment questions to check out this site. The answers are straightforward without sounding uncharitable and judgemental. 😉

Of course my own parish and diocese.

The US Conference of Catholic Bishops for the online NAB Bible, for the online Catechism, for the movie reviews, and a bunch of other stuff.

The Holy See for all the Papal documents and a whole bunch of other stuff.

For the text of the 1983 Canon I like Our Lady’s Warriors. The version at the Vatican’s site seems to have a bug.

Whenever I find a new Catholic website, I like to read it’s review on Catholic Culture (.org, not .com).

And there’s one thing that all the every other Catholic site has been missing, so I’m making my own to take care of that. But it’s not up yet (except on my LAN as I finish the development). Still, it’s one of my favorites. 😃

That’s only 7, but I like the number 7 better anyway.

Peg:
I think you meant www.catholicity.com. The link you provided looks like one of those domain squatters.

The Vatican: www.vatican.va - The Holy See

United States Council of Catholic Bishops: www.usccb.org - Pro-Life resources, GIRM and more. Great resource!

Zenit: www.zenit.org - World news about the Catholic Church.

Papal Encyclicals Online: www.papalencyclicals.net - All the way back to Pope Honorius (1226).

Nazareth Resource Library: www.cin.org/users/james/index.htm - A+ Resources. My favorite section is “Catechism.” Five historic catechisms (Aquinas, Trent, Baltimore, Pius X, and CCC) tell you what every Christian should know about The Apostles Creed, The Sacraments, The Ten Commandments, and The Lord’s Prayer.

**New Advent: ** www.newadvent.org - Catholic Encyclopedia and more.

Catholic Culture: www.catholicculture.org - Critiques Catholic website for their fidelity, resources, and usability. Gives examples where the site falls short.

Eternal Word Television Network: www.ewtn.com - Good Q&A forum, EWTN Radio, Prayers

Internet Padre: www.internetpadre.com - Excellent to search through.

Catholic Exchange: www.catholicexchange.com - Great articles on the faith and current issues. Good Q&A section.

Catholic Pages: www.catholic-pages.com - Great articles, and of course,

Catholic Answers Forums: forums.catholic-questions.org (You Are Here!)

Once upon a time Catholic.org would be up there but the site is a bit gruesome for me. CAF is number 1 followed by EWTN

I wonder if anyone could provide a refreshed TOP 10 List for 2015. The original post is over 10 years old. There must be some new sites out there!

😃

Well, the basics generally stand the test of times so out of a top 10 list I suppose 5 would change at any given time. Good idea, though, to take another look. Checking my browser bookmarks here are my go-to sites:

STANDARDS:
Vatican News: www.news.va/en
US Bishops: www.usccb.org
Local Diocesan website - to follow how my diocese supports Vatican programs/teachings
Local Parish website(s) - to find out what programs, events, talks, volunteer opportunities are available at a given time
For Travel: www.masstimes.org

MEDIA
Catholic Answers - www.catholic.com - for quick access to answers and resources for questions which pop up throughout my day
ETWN: www.ewtn.org - to have access to Catholic programs
Lighthouse Catholic Media: www.lighthousecatholicmedia.org - to load my mp3 players with inspirational talks

INSPIRATION/FOCUS:
John O’Leary - www.risingabove.com - to keep me thankful for God’s blessings
Matthew Kelly - www.dynamiccatholic.com - to help me with fellow Catholics
Fr. Mike Schmitz - www.bulldogcatholic.org - to help me help the younger generation

Thanks so much! I started to compile a list as well.

I appreciate your time!

Nate
