Dear Brothers and Sisters,
On this Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord – a beautiful and significant account is given from Mark’s Gospel in today’s Mass readings, the First Reading from the book of Daniel and the Second letter from Peter also are helpful for us to ponder. There is an important connection to Mary, it seems to me, In the words God spoke on the Mount of the Transfiguration :
In the first and second Mass readings today, we can “see connections” to Mary: Daniel the Prophet wrote: “…I saw: One like a Son of man coming, on the clouds of heaven…” We know Jesus will come in Glory at the end of time, but He came first through Mary. St. Peter wrote: "…we possess the prophetic message that is altogether reliable. You will do well to be attentive to it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. " I’m reminded of the Hymn: “Mary the dawn, Christ the Perfect Day”.
True Devotion to Mary is important for us, because it is God’s Plan. He sent Jesus to us through Mary, and the more we listen to all Jesus said and did as Mary listened, the more like Him , by His Grace, we become. Jesus knew dying on the Cross, Mary knew Him best, so He told us: “Behold Your Mother”. In her, we see Jesus living and active as He invites us to live and remain in Him.
St. Louis de Montfort continues in his treatise to praise Mary:

Before continuing with the next paragraph from St. Louis de Montfort’s treatise on “True Devotion to the Virgin Mary”, it is good to remember that Mary had begun to “listen” to God very early in her life on this earth. She heard and kept all God revealed in the Scriptures passed on through centuries of Jewish history. When Mary listened to the Angel announce God’s Plan to send Jesus she gave herself to be His totally."This is My Chosen Son, listen to Him"

Come Holy Spirit, open the ears of our hearts, help us to listen!According to St. Bonaventure, all the angels in heaven unceasingly call out to her: “Holy, holy, holy Mary, Virgin Mother of God.” They greet her countless times each day with the angelic greeting, “Hail, Mary”, while prostrating themselves before her, begging her as a favour to honour them with one of her requests. According to St. Augustine, even St. Michael, though prince of all the heavenly court, is the most eager of all the angels to honour her and lead others to honour her. At all times he awaits the privilege of going at her word to the aid of one of her servants.
- Every day, from one end of the earth to the other, in the highest heaven and in the lowest abyss, all things preach, all things proclaim the wondrous Virgin Mary. The nine choirs of angels, men and women of every age, rank and religion, both good and evil, even the very devils themselves are compelled by the force of truth, willingly or unwillingly, to call her blessed.
