How many people like to pray litanies, be they the approved litanies (Sacred Heart, Blessed Virgin, St. Joseph, Holy Name, Precious Blood, the Saints) or those for private devotion only? And when do you all like to pray them – after the rosary, during adoration, etc.?

During the semester (I’m a college student), some members of our campus pro-life group go and pray in front of an abortion clinic on Thursdays and Fridays. On Fridays it’s just me and one other person, we always pray litanies like the litany of the Blessed Virgin, the litany of the Sacred Heart, and the litany of the Sacred Head of Jesus.
The Litany of the Blessed Virgin (our lady of Loretto) goes perfect at the end of a rosary. I pray litanies on my own but they’re much more fun with other people. 😃

As often as possible!

I use “A Prayerbook of Favorite Litanies” by TAN Books & Publishers.
It has over 100 litanies, including all the ones approved for public use plus tons of great litanies for private use that range from litanies of various saints to litanies to Christ to litanies for special circumstances.

I have started the habit of saying the “Litany of the Precious Blood” on Fridays. I started doing this on Fridays when I ate meat, as as we are instructed to do so…(.to do something else special on that day.)

Now, I say that Litany whether I have abstained from meat or not on Friday.

On occasion I pray the Litany of Our Blessed Mother, and of the Sacred Heart.
