Litany of saints on requiem mass

Can i (a layperson) can request to the priest to invoke the saints (litany of saints) to pray for my soul during my requiem mass? This sounds morbid but i just want to know if the litany of saints is only chanted on requiem mass for the ministers and religious or even the lay person can also ask for this prayer on his requiem mass?
