I’ve been praying in cemeteries every day for the plenary indulgence and saying different prayers at each. I said this one the other night in a church graveyard. It was a bit long I thought (it was cold out there and it was 3 am as well ). I have also been saying the Little Litany of the Holy Souls from Catholicculture.org and I like that one better.

Yes everyday through November for family, friends and all God’s children that have left us. We have a box in my church where people can put the names of ones they want remembered and Father puts it on the altar everyday. God Bless:🦋🦋🦋

Bear 3am in a cemetery in the cold, you deserve extra indulgences for that.❤️ I’ve been to one cemetery there aren’t any very close to where I live. I will be going today and tomorrow however it will be at 3PM You must live somewhere where such things are possible, I live in Philly cannot go to visit 3am at cemetery…God Bless.🦋🦋🦋

The one I went to was 30 miles outside Philly, next to the church. The historic churches out here have the old graveyards still next to them in many cases. It makes it easy to pray, and it’s safe out here. Would not do it in the city. We were having an all night prayer service for First Friday and First Saturday or I would not have been there so late.

I hope God gave extra indulgences to the poor souls, I give them all away. Maybe I keep one plenary a year for myself but it seems a bit pointless since I will likely sin again and have to rely anyway on God’s mercy. St Therese of Lisieux also taught we should arrive before God with empty hands having given all for others.

I know exactly where you speak of been out there many times. I am heading down to Old St.Joseph’s church today in Old City, and St, Mary’ church which has an old cemetery attached. Alot of Revolutionary grave sites … Giving your indulgences to the souls in purgatory, what a beautiful gesture. God Bless 🦋🦋🦋

Well, this is the one I’ve been praying for about a year, so it’s the one I’m used to.

I can visit a cemetery at 3 a.m. down the road. I don’t, as someone has been kicking over headstones. Now, the cops know that I walk during that time when I can’t sleep, they’re well aware of this. Very glad, they’ve never harassed me for it, they just asked what I was doing. But, because someone is doing that I think it would be a wise idea to stay away from said Cemetery at 3 a.m. I live in a rural area.

Under the circumstances I agree you should stay away , for who is ever doing such an awful thing may be lurking about and if you stumble upon them, well in today’s world anything is possible. Better to stay safe Remember when I was a kid, things were so different, one could leave their doors unlocked. Praying the Litany for the Faithful departed is truly a wonderful gift to the souls and we should all participate. God Bless you. 🦋🦋🦋

There were 20 other people in proximity to me as we’d just finished Mass and prayers about 10 feet away in the Church, and the Church lights were all on. At any other time I would have expected the police to be called on me by someone in the neighboring houses 🙂
