I am a poor scholar but best i can see it was not seen a messianic promise.
People will look for scripture to support their beliefs oft more than to form them.
Many say today that if we wanted to know the world is a globe we need only look to Isaiah 40:22.
Easy it reads the earth is a globe if one knows it so but in times past it was understood as it states.
I ponder if i read the word to support what i think i know do i fall to idolatry?
Its a hard question given that as one assents ones sole to the spiritual inspiration is offered by both good and failed spiritual forces.
Prior knowledge helps discern between them, but i offer when you pray what does G-d inspire in you about Gen 3;15 meaning.
What Our Father wants you to see might be more important than what we see.
