I have sometimes fantasized about organizing a congregation to give made-up responds (each individual saying something different) to the priest’s made-up verses. Let’s give them a taste of their own medicine. 😛
 
Outside of a few grievous examples, from what I’ve seen most “creativity” is born from convenience rather than anything else.

Not to mention that once you inherit a situation bishops do not tend to like pastors who rock the boats.
