Does anyone here recite the Little Office of the BVM? If so, which version do you use?
I hear a lot about the LOTH but very little about LOBVM.

Yes. I do.
I have the 2008 Baronius Press version. I bought it on Amazon. I have “heard” this is the best of the currently available breviaries. There are some translation errors, missing prayers and lack of “cross” where the devotee should cross themselves (there is a rubrics section so this problem is easily taken care of…) Certainly, the printing and binding are of high quality with two sturdy ribbbons too.
I love this devotion. The prayers are short but reverent. I have a desire to better learn latin. This prayer book has the latin on one side and english on the other. Like the 1962 Missal Romanum.
I certainly hope and pray for others to again take up this beautiful devotion. Especially on this day of Mary’s nativity.

I have a reprint of an English Little Office originally published in 1914. It has a red cloth cover, and has the dimensions of an old Book of COmmon Prayer, but not as many pages.

I used to pray the current version from the Catholic Book Publishing Company. It is revised for Vatican II. It was very nice, but I wanted to start praying the Liturgy of the hours because it flows with the Church season.
I do know that Baronius Press sells a Pre-Vatican II version that includes the chant. I’ve never had any personal experience with this version.

There are three offices. The first office is from the Purification to Advent. The second office is for Advent. And the third office is for Christmas.

I got a similar book published in the same year, 1904, with Latin on one side and english on the other. However the instructions are not as good.
I started out with a 1983 version, modern english, which I didn’t care for at all.
I’ve gotten so I can complete all the hours pretty close to the LOTH times.
Matins is the tough one.

Early on I realized, even with the best intentions, I would not be able to pray Matin’s.
I do, however, almost daily pray Lauds when I get up in the morning as Compline before I go to sleep. The real benefit for me in the Little Office is the more brief nature and concise office. The breviary is a small book I carry with me in my lap top bag.
I have been and try to be devoted to the BVM. I have recently started St Louis de Montforts book on True Devotion to Mary.

Liturgy of the Hours (post-concilliar Office)
Liturgia Horarum (LotH in Latin)
Breviarium Romanum (pre-concilliar Office)
Monastic Diurnal (pre-concilliar Benedictine Office)
Little Office of the BVM (pre- and post-concilliar)
The LOBVM from Baronius Press is very nice. It has Latin/English and uses old hymns, traditional antiphons, and has Gregorian chant notation that you can use to chant the Office. But be aware that it is the same every day. There are some variations for Advent and Christmastide, but for the most part it is very repetitive from day to day. Also, the English is more hieratic English (thee, thou, cometh, peradventure, etc…). For some this is nice, but I found it a slight hindrance to pray privately. That having been said, if I was looking to pray a LOBVM, this would be the one I’d choose. The post-concilliar one is not as hard-hitting and has the 70’s fluffiness that you see in the ICEL translation of the LotH.
The current edition is free of typos.
