Liturgical calendar colouring sheet?

Before I reinvent the wheel and spend the time creating my own, I thought I’d ask if anyone already had such a thing in digital form.

I’m trying to keep things simple, as it’s aimed at 7-8 year olds, but also include the basic ideas and keep it expandable. So, something like this ocarm.org/en/sites/default/files/images/calendar.jpg, except in outline form (so we can colour the seasons in ourselves) would be ideal. I really like this one.

It would be even better if it had the weeks marked so that we can colour in Laetare and Gaudete Sunday in pink! Although I suppose we can just put in little pink lines for those, since they’re only one day each. I then intend to annotate a few choice feastdays around it.

I’ve seen some with every day on, like this how-to-pray-the-rosary-everyday.com/support-files/liturgical-calendar.pdf, and I’ve seen handy versions of that without the colour, but that would be too complicated and too date specific (it will change next year) for my purposes.

Hope this is the right forum! I was thinking that, since it is for the purposes of Sacrament preparation, it fell under Evangelisation, but I’m sure I remember seeing some sticky-thread about resources for children, and it don’t seem to be at the top of this forum.

Craftjunki, I’m afraid that’s not really what I was looking for, but thanks for the effort.

Karen, yours might be just the thing, with a little tweaking, although I really did like the idea of having the months marked on too. Presumably the idea is that you add a split-pin fastener to attach the arrow to the middle, and point to where we are now?

Yup, I print it on cardstock and use the metal brads. If you can give a few more details on what you are looking for I can edit it or I can send you link to an editable version.
 
Hi Karen, sorry for the delay. If you have an editable version, that would be great. I was thinking of just adding a ring with the months of the year, to help the children get their bearings.
 
This is not helpful as far as dates or months go, but my 6 year olds loved making a circle of pony beads with one bead for each Sunday (in the color of the vestments of course). The problem is, as I said before, there is no way to put dates to it, and also, you have to keep telling them … “It’s NOT a rosary!”. :angel1: (The little angels!)

No problem. Here is a link to it in .doc format, I’m not sure how it will look, I make it in another program and formatting doesn’t always convert very well.

I played with it a bit and here is what I came up with. Is that more or less what you are wanting? The months won’t be exact since it moves around a bit, but it should put everything in more or less the right season.
 
Oh wow Karen, thanks, that looks great. As you say, things move around, but I just wanted them to have a sense of the shape of things. The .doc doesn’t really work, but your edited version is great.

Ya, I kind of figured the.doc would have issues, the converting is fine for basic text, but any kind of formatting seems to cause issues. But I’m glad the other one works for you. 😃
