A book out of print that if in print, could form an educational tool for Byzantine-Catholics. The out of print book was of copyright,1975 by the Byzantine Seminary Press. This catechism on the Divine Liturgy was published to fulfill, in part, a need for some basic, authoritative information written in the English language on the subject of the Divine Liturgy used by Catholics of the Byzantine-Slavonic rite, as well as to serve as a guide both for the teacher and the student in its study.

Our present church attendees, could use an educational tool, to advise each of various teachings of our Byzantine faith, and a book of this nature would be instrumental along this route.

Who can we get to update this book and get it into the system of distribution??

I have no idea what you are looking for. However, the Catechism of the Eastern Catholic Churches which use the Byzantine Rite is “Light for Life”. It is three volumes.

Its simple what I wrote about. I am not looking for anything. I am wondering when someone of authority is going to republish the Liturgical Catechism, I explained already. Yes, I have the three volunes of Light for Life, but they do not come near to the educational value that the old Liturgical Catechism book was It has chapters, questions for students of any age, answers, pictorial. I am sure there are people out there that are of a age that would remember this.

Christos Voskrese!

Hmm … I’ve seen a version from the early 1950s with some interesting icons of saints on the cover. Does your version have the drawings of the beardless priest?

The Byzantine Seminary Press used to publish quite a bit of material. Sadly, those days are long gone. We have few resources these days. Even fewer active scholars in the BCC.

GREETINGS ALL AND HOLUPKI, TOO

Probably there were many periodicals, books, etc in earlier years, and the one I am talking about, is probably one of them. This one is light green, and dark green. Front cover has St. Basil the Great, St. John Chrysostom, St. Gregory Nyssa . It has VIII, Units, and 26 Lessons, 110 pages.

There is not one book that I know that comes close to the edcuational value that this book has. Our children and adults need something like this to help in Evangelization.
