Today at Mass, the music was much better than usual. I have gotten accustomed to, oi not really reconciled to, seeing the celebrant, serviers, and anyone else in the sactuary holding hands
, and watching a herd of women move forward ae EMs to carry the brandy snifters of the Precious Blood to the Faithful.
But today, the First Sunday in Advent, I saw something new: The pastor-celebrant was wearing a flowing battleship grey chausible, over which he wore a wide purple stole decorated with candelabra.
The Deacon was wearing violet vestments, and incidentally, delivered an excellent seasonal homily.
When did grey become a liturgical color?
