In my 1962 Roman Catholic Missal, the reading for the Seventh Sunday after Pentecost is Matthew 7:15-21. When is this passage read in the new Liturgical cycle? And if there has been a change, any guess as to why?
Most of it (vv. 15-20) is read on Wednesday of the Twelfth Week in Ordinary time. The rest (v. 21) is read the next day.
I don’t think there is any reason except that, the passage you mention is part of a continuous reading of the Sermon on the Mount that begins with the Tenth Week in Ordinary time. I expect it was removed from the Sunday cycles to avoid repetition.
