Liturgical 'go-go' dancing?

I see this pretty much every Sunday Mass in the warmer months (including female readers and EMHCs dressed like they were at a night club). :rolleyes:
 
I am morally certain the photos in my column are authentic.

If some still want to doubt their authenticity, well…be my guest.
 
Hi Matt,

Could you go into a little detail about the motivation for this sort of uh… performance? This is inconsistent with respectable behavior in a Church, especially during Mass.

I agree, Ed. I don’t know why this type of thing goes on, but it does. There are those who seemingly believe liturgical dance is edifying.

It’s very unfortunate.

I don’t think sweeping problems under the rug – or keeping dirty laundry in the hamper, as you like to call it – helps matters. Case in point: the clergy sex abuse scandal.

I also don’t understand why some people like to shoot the messenger. Pro-aborts do it all the time with regard to pro-lifers displaying graphic abortion photos. They ridicule pro-lifers for showing the public the reality of abortion.

It’s time for (some) Catholics to get their heads out of the sand.

Also, why the silence as to who took these pictures and who these women “dancing” are? This was a public event so there is no privacy issues to worry about.

I have the names of the dancers, but they might be minors, so I didn’t think it would be appropriate to show their faces (or list their names).

I also have the name of the person who took the photos, but I don’t think it’s necessary to reveal the name.

It’s behind her back which means she would be dancing close to his chest - presumeably with the altar in close proximity. He’s got awful small hands for being in such a position, don’t you think. And the colors of both are not right. I think this is a set-up.

Sorry, but I would need a little more proof before believing this is a true photo, The photographer seems to have an interest in the derriere of one girl, huh?

If the priest is standing with the altar in front of him praying over the gifts then there is no angle that would make the woman appear to be in the place of the altar. We should see the altar or the gifts behind the priests hand, not the woman’s back.

These pictures are just off and am I the only one that finds it odd that the person who wrote this article did not cite the source of the pictures and is hiding the identity of the “dancers” when this was a public function and there is no privacy issues in question? Maybe the identities are hidden because the pictures are of a questionable nature?

I wondered how long it would take for the old old old old clown picture to surface. Anyways, its not even a valid comparison.

The girls may very well be minors, so I don’t think it’s appropriate to show their faces or reveal their names.
