Hello All ,I am experiencing technical difficulties(according to some people in my parish) I notice liturgical irregularities and ask questions about the whys and I have supplied all the pertinent documentation, done the usual merry go round to the right people and no one gives hoot. Why is that I Go And Dicuss my observations ,all of a sudden the topic becomes aboout ME. This Constant deflection of the issue, and the dismissal of my warrented concerns are met with the usual raising up the baracades of trying to pathologize me. I’m told 'Yes ,all that documentation from the church is true, but, wheres your compassion, why are you making such a big deal about the fact that there are non-Catholic readers at Mass, and the children from the school are being taught all manner of non-proscribed gestures except for the all important kneeling at the concecration. And Why is it so wrong that non-Catholics routinely run up to get there “piece of cake” after all who would deny anyone a "piece of cake ’ at the 'Banquet "(Rhetoric Clearly intended)After all you are being soooo jugemental. You should not come to mass to look at other people, you should come and stick your head in the sand like the rest of us lazy slotful cowards(sarcasm definitly implied) So Here I am Doubtful, hurt ,tired, beat up,Why Should I Give a Hoot?Maybe I’ll just go mooing along with the burb crowd of complacency and become a soccer mom. I Know my Jesus Is The Most Blessed Sacrament but…Batteries are low…fading fast…I Need Prayers to fight another day…Please pray for Our Beloved Church,Peace,Markie

Ms. Mercy7,

Have you contacted your Bishop. If your priest at your church won’t help, the Bishop is the next step. Then if there is no help from the Bishop, the Vatican. Do not give up. Rome must be made aware of what is occuring in many of our parishes.

Please divide your posts into paragraphs, and pay closer attention to spacing and punctuation (it doesn’t have to be perfect, but for the sake of old eyes- and eyes that just think they are old, please write using proper paragraph form, spelling, grammar, and punctuation). I edited it so I could read it, and quoted it here to make it easier for others to read.

Hello All,

I am experiencing technical difficulties (according to some people in my parish). I notice liturgical irregularities and ask ‘why’. I have supplied all the pertinent documentation, done the usual merry-go-round to the right people, and no one gives a hoot.

Why is that when I go and dicuss my observations, all of a sudden the topic becomes aboout ME? This Constant deflection of the issue, and the dismissal of my warrented concerns are met with the usual raising of the baracades- trying to pathologize me. I’m told 'Yes, all that documentation from the church is true but, where’s your compassion? Why are you making such a big deal about the fact that there are non-Catholic readers at Mass, and that the children from the school are being taught all kinds of non-prescribed gestures except for the all-important kneeling at the concecration. Why is it so wrong that non-Catholics routinely run up to get their “piece of cake”- after all, who would deny anyone a "piece of cake ’ at the 'Banquet "(Rhetoric Clearly intended)? You are being soooo jugemental. You should not come to Mass to look at other people, you should come and stick your head in the sand like the rest of us lazy slothful cowards (sarcasm definitly implied).

So, here I am- doubtful, hurt, tired, and beat up. Why should I give a hoot? Maybe I’ll just go mooing along with the burb crowd of complacency and become a soccer mom. I know my Jesus is in the Most Blessed Sacrament, but batteries are low, and are fading fast. I need prayers to fight another day. Please pray for our beloved Church.

Peace,

Markie

I suggest you talk to your pastor about the issue. If that doesn’t work, contact your bishop. If you are in a diocese where the bishop wouldn’t do anything about it, then I suggest you find a new parish.

I suppose I am lucky. I happened to meet the right people as I was onverting, and was taught to learn what the Church teaches on my own- not to take blindly what a priest or a nun or a layperson says. I was directed to an excellent parish- but I resisted for awhile, and I didn’t join it for a few years, but after I saw the wrong turns the other parishes I was settling for were taking- or were about to take- I finally did, and I couldn’t be happier. I go to Mass now, and I know things will be done right (though no place is perfect). I was able to take my Protestant parents and grandparents with me to Mass, and rest easy, knowing that the priest wasn’t going to give some politically correct homily and discredit my explanations of the Faith to my family.
