Good day!
I was wondering: Why do priests wear white on the feast days in Lent such as St. Joseph’s and Annunciation but not on Sunday’s in Lent? It would seem to me that Sunday (being a little Easter) would use the liturgical color white.
Do these other feasts – St. Joseph’s and Annuciation – trump Sundays in liturgical joy?
If anyone can provide me some answers I would appreciate them!
God bless you all.

St. Joseph and Annuniciation are solemnities, i.e., first class feasts. If either falls on Sunday, as Lady Day does this year, then it is transferred to the next day. If that next day is the Monday in Holy Week or Easter Monday, then it is transferred to the first free day after the Easter Octave.

The Feast would “trump” a weekday in Lent.

I think wearing the color of the season on Sunday reminds us of what season we are in, that we are in a penitential season. There is still feeling of it on Sundays in Lent. The Gloria is not said and there is no alleluia before the Gospel proclamation. The priest wears green on the Sundays in Ordinary Time, it’s a reminder of the season we are in. Occasionally great feast days are placed within these seasons (solemnities.) The Annunciation of the Lord is on March 25th (usually) which is 9 months exactly to Christmas.
