Greetings, all!

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good resource that describes (summarizes) the liturgical year, specifically the variations that occur from season to season (for instance, not saying “Alleluia” during lent, etc.).

Thanks!

Liturgical Training Publications www.ltp.org has Liturgical Year calendars that you can purchase. They still have the 2007 calendars, and soon should have the 2008. I use them with my CCD class, giving each student a calendar. We use it all the time to discuss the seasons, feast days, Holy Days, etc.

I don’t recall it specifically talking about dropping the Alleluia, but that might be on there somewhere, or in the booklet you can get to go with it.

Not sure if you were looking for something online. If you were, you can Google “Liturgical Year” or “Liturgical Year Calendar” and get a ton of hits.

ltp also has a manual for proclaimers of the Word and a similar guide for music ministers, which are meant to be used by all those involved in the Liturgy for planning and reference. When ordered in bulk so everyone who needs one has one they are not too expensive, and of course are in English and Spanish.
