I am interested to begin a Liturgy of the Hour prayer life. I have looked through some of the Christian Prayers books in Amazon and after reading the reviews, I am not confident in buying them. This was because some reviews pointed out that the ribbons are missing, there are no red and black sentences, etc. Therefore, I would appreciate if you could recommend me a trusted Christian Prayer book seller.

Amazon gets theirs from the publisher, and there can always be production problems. Do you have a local Catholic bookstore? Then you could look at the book yourself before purchasing.

I am from an Islamic country. All religious books except the Holy Quran are banned from import. Whoever ordered religious book, if found, will be fined, jailed or both. There are only 3 catholic churches in my country. All other churches are underground.

The easiest way to ge byt started may be with an app. iBreviary is free and works quite well. It would give you a chance to try out this form of prayer without a financial investment.

I saw this symbol * in the psalm. What does it mean? Also, what is “Or:”. Sometimes there is Ant, Ant 1, do I read both Ant and Ant 1? Finally, when they quote a verse from the Bible, do I have to say out loud the verse including the chapter?

Honestly, I am not comfortable making a suggestion which might put you in danger. Speak with your priest. Pray from your heart.
