I don’t know if this is really what you’re looking for, but you can print the eight Gregorian psalm tone - scroll down to the bottom of the page:

I don’t know how this would fit in with the chanting of the Liturgy of the Hours, but of course you wouldn’t have to use the whole tone - in fact you could probably compose your own tone as psalm tones are normally quite simple - for example a common tone simply repeats the same note but moves either up or down a tone on the last syllable or two.

I don’t know off-hand of audio files, but you could always try downloading some music from a chant cd which has psalms and you would at least be able to get some ideas!

My ministry produces a very popular, even featured on iTunes, Liturgy of the Hours audio podcast. We looked at using the tones and found them to be very simple. You should try looking on wikipedia. What was a little more difficult was knowing what to use where. We ended up not “chanting” because we were only 4 people all with no vocal talent. What we did do is lay a musical bed under the psalms and had the most popular psalms put to musical, mostly in a pop Italian style. During ordinary time we only publish Morning Prayer so give it a listen if you have a chance and let us know about how we could use the tones if you every work it out.
