Does anyone know where I can get a physical copy of LOTH for relatively free?

Like everyone else (it seems) I am broke. But I still want to pray the LOTH when I dont have internet access so… Anything will help.

The full Liturgy of the Hours is a four volume set that is a bit pricey during current economic times.

Another choice would be the

“Shorter Christian Prayer: The Four-Week Psalter of the Liturgy of the Hours Containing Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer With Selections for the Entire Year(Leather Bound)”

Finally, you might try www.Universalis.com. I use the site for the calander to note the feasts and Solemnities as well which week in the psalter we are in.

You noted that you wanted something to use offline. Universalis allows you to print the various Divine Offices that you might wish to recite when you have no access to the computer.

The online breviary resource ebreviary.com gives LOH PDF files 10 days in advance. If you can get internet access only once in 10 days, you can print each day off individually in the form of PDF.

Otherwise, I’d check through a used book store for a used copy cheap of Christian Prayer or Shorter Christian Prayer. Make sure the book has an imprimatur, otherwise it could be protestant and altered. If you get a used copy you can get the miniature update for $2 from St. Joseph publishing.
 
I just bought the four volume LOTH and have therefore have no need for my one volume Christian Prayer. It’s in like new condition and I will gladly send it to you for free. I’d rather it be put to use rather than sitting on my book shelf.

I am putting the Divine Office into electronic format and then soon will have it available for download on PC, PDA, mobile phone - so then you won’t need to download bits now and again but all of it once and for all. Let me know if anyone is willing to help in doing this - freecatholic@hotmail.co.uk

That is one of the sweetest things I’ve ever seen on this forum!! God bless you for helping someone grow in their prayer life!
