Hello all,
I am doing research on the history of the Liturgy of the Hours for a presentation in a class on the Liturgy and Sacraments of the Church. I am particularly interested in learning the development of chant. Specifically I would like to find notation and audio of the way the pslams were chanted in the temple, how Jesus and his disciples prayed them, how the early Christians chant/sung the psalms. In the tradition of the Maronite Rite would I find a tradition of chanting the psalms that would be closest to what the early Christians would have done?
To sum up what I am looking for is a historical understanding of the development of chant of the Eastern and Western Church. Is anyone able to point me in the right direction? Thank you
