Hi I am an American now living in Croatia. I would like to know if there is a bare-bones listing of the daily mass readings? As in the date and then the readings. So many sites give you a calendar and you have to click on each day. Or they give the actual readings. I would like a list to put in my bible so when I am at mass I can read the current readings for the day.
ALSO and please don’t misunderstand me. I love mass and I usually go daily- HOWEVER: is there a listing of Holiday Days of Obligation for Croatia??? I try to ask the priest but not having much luck in him understanding my question. One day I did not go to daily mass and heard the “Mass Bells” only to find it was a holy day here. Needless to say couldn’t get ready in time.

The HDoO in Croatia are Christmas, Corpus Christi, Assumption BVM, and All Saints. There are several others that are observed as “days of devotion” (basically former HDoO) but there is no requirement to attend Mass or refrain from work “hinder(ing) the worship to be rendered to God, the joy proper to the Lord’s day, or the suitable relaxation of mind and body”

Not sure this would be the same for where your local but I follow the daily readings here:

There should be a lot of English speaking priests there that could confirm if these are the same or not, especially in Bosnia - Mostar. Or I suppose you could follow along a couple days and just check it out. Perhaps, if they have missals, you could ask to take one home and that would give you the chapter and verse reference to look up in English yourself at home.

Thank you all very much for your relpy’s they helped a lot. I will follow the USA readings and will see if I can figure out if they are the same with my very limited knowledge of Croatian. We only have 2 priests here and both speak German as a second language. My mom spoke German but unfortunately she tried to teach me at a time when I knew everything. Those days are long gone.
