Live Exorcism!?

Oct.30m there is being broadcast a “live exorcism” on destiny channel. This raises many questions to me.
How will they get the “demon” to show upon schedule? This being done by the cast of Ghost Asylum, all the members are Baptists from the South.
Can Baptists exorcise anyone? WhaT will they do, scream over and over. “Get out, in Jesus Name. In Jesus name AIMIN”.

If by chance I end up with a demon in me, I would want to be exorcised by a qualified priest. No Baptist layperson.
 
Ignore it, that’s my advice, and pray for everyone involved with it to be enlightened by the Holy Ghost. It’s terribly manipulative and sad that they would air something like this. Pathetic. :mad:
 
The film “The Last Exorcism” is a good one to watch if you want to see Baptists trying to exorcise. This is presumably just a fictitious. A real exorcist would not broadcast it for the world to see. Its cheap and tacky.
 
Without a doubt, fake, contrived for the masses, like many many many supposed “live” or “real life” “reality” tv shows.

In the Scriptures, people who were not holy who actually tried to mess with spirits get pummeled by them…

Acts 19:13-16
“But also some of the Jewish exorcists, who went from place to place, attempted to name over those who had the evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, “I adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches.” Seven sons of one Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. And the evil spirit answered and said to them, “I recognize Jesus, and I know about Paul, but who are you?” And the man, in whom was the evil spirit, leaped on them and subdued all of them and overpowered them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. …”

Anyone attempting to air on national television what is from the dark realms would get pummeled as well. And NO holy priest would ever agree to such a spectacle because of it being such a low thing to do to get ratings.
 
Satan and demons do not wish to make their existence a well known fact to everyone, Satans greatest trick was to convince mankind he does not even exist…I highly doubt airing a real exorcism would even be possible, the demon would just shut down or destroy the video taping equipment.

On the other hand, special effects teams cooking up something that looks like a real exorcism, yes, that is very likely, and to gullible people, they probably will believe it was very real.
 
I’m watching this show right now.

It’s very boring television for sure. As a fan of the Art Bell show, he recently had Dr. Barry Taff on. Dr. Taff said it best when asked about shows like this and such. He said that the paranormal cannot/will not be caught so super easily when all these cameras are around. That this stuff doesn’t really manifest on command.

Whenever they go through with the exorcism, I’ll post how that went.

Bishop Long is from the United States Old Catholic Church. What’s that?

It’s an offshoot of the Catholic Church from the 1800s. They have issues with papal authority and have some sort of bizarre connection to the Anglican Church, but I’m not sure how deep all that really goes.

For the last half of the show, a ouija board was used with a psychic and three other people. They stopped after third question when it revealed that evil spirits were wanting to come through. The exorcism was solemn. The bishop led the exorcism while the psychic held a crucifix and was responsorial. Nothing happened at all during the exorcism.

The real danger in all this from watching the show is that if there were any younger people who saw it, then they might think that ghost hunting/ouija/exorcisms are harmless activities when they really aren’t.

Yeah, these things are pretty scary. I sometimes don’t mind watching Ghost Hunters from time to time, and the hosts on that program at least make it pretty obvious it’s not for the faint of heart. It’s not exactly a potentially physically life threatening exercise(like being a Cop for instance), but dabbling in these things can be spiritually and mentally challenging.

I read this man is an actor who was an Elvis impersonator many years ago.

Couldnt it actually be possible that alot of harm could come from this? I thought I read something awhile back that talked about demons abilities and even a preference to ‘travel’ thru or use electrical connectivity to their advantage…??

This is actually why my ex-mother in law refuses to have a computer in her home, she thinks demons are using these things to spread their evil around.
