Live online daily divine office: is it anywhere?

Does anyone know if anywhere online there is a live daily praying of Morning Prayer from the Liturgy of the Hours (Divine Office)? I’d just like to start my day on my laptop by praying along with some live person or group, and thereby with the whole Church. I’ve looked around online, but so far I only find encouragements, or samples, or lessons, or only the texts. I found a “monk” with canned background chant and Christmas tree lights forming a heart, who began OK with Let’s pray to God but went swiftly downhill with God Mother and planet and who knows what. Does anybody know if the real thing is live daily online anywhere? Thanks.
 
Great ?, I’d love to pray along with something live as well…
 
Radio Maria prays the divine office live, using, if I remember correctly, the single volume Christian Prayer: The Liturgy of the Hours.
5:30am PST Morning Prayer.
10am PST Mid-day Prayer.
5pm PST Evening Prayer.

If you use Radio Maria, you will need to coincide your prayer time with their published schedule. If you arrive late, you will not be able to access the liturgical prayer of the hour.

With DivineOffice.org, you need to gain permission to access their site, since they closed registrations a few months ago. Since I had used it so often, I was able to register permanently. There are exceptions, and you may still be able to log on. I suggest you read the statement on their website and see whether it would apply to you.
 
Now I remember: the divineoffice website refuses to let me listen unless I permit “location tracking”. I’m set up for no tracking since I don’t want to be continually and automatically sales-targeted.

Radio Maria sounded good until she got to the end of the Glory Be, and it’s “and will be forever.” I learned “and ever shall be, world without end.” I don’t want the interminable and ignorant “improvements” upon religious custom.

It’s no good going to the Traditional Latin people, because they are following the old calendar, and I want to be observing the feasts and saints that the bulk of the Church is observing.

Magnificat Magazine is great, but it is silent. I wish someone were doing it alive online…

Any other ideas? Thanks.

I have been on this website for a very long time and NEVER received sales targeting. On a couple occasions, they did ask whether I could contribute to their efforts, but when I checked that I was unable, they never bothered me again.

Do you understand that they post a “cookie” on your computer in order for you to access the site? That is necessary, and most sites that you intend to frequent often, follow the same procedure. CAF does this as well, but do you wish not to be a member in order to avoid their occasional solicitations for donations?

Give D.O. another try if you seriously wish to pray the Office.

Sirach, the time would actually be great for me–that’s early for the Pacific coast, but early is good for me as it happens. It’s just that the wording is new and improved, as in not. I know, i’m being picky.

I can’t seem to open even one thing on their site: it’s a total lockout for me. They seem to absolutely require I allow them to track me, which is nonsense.

Thoughts?

Well, I sort of understand about the cookies. I have no trouble accessing all kinds of sites, including CAF, and Church Militant and such things as petmd symptom checkers and Youtube cockatoo videos etc. So my cookie status seems generally workable: it’s that I allow only the bare minimum of cookies. Apparently DO wants more than that. I agree with you: I wouldn’t mind being asked occasionally for donations by a website I was using, that’s not it; it’s just a global stance of very low cookieness for me. I tried the DO site again just now, and though everything else is still frozen for me, I was able to open the contact menu, so I sent them my question and will wait for their response in my email.

The words “Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.” are hardly new. They have been Church-approved for use in the English translation of the Liturgy of the Hours in the United States for the last 40+ years. Instead of thinking of them as the words of a corrupted version of the Glory Be prayer that you know and love, trying thinking of them as an entirely new prayer, the Glory To prayer.

I’ve always had a bit of a problem with praying this version, since I have to shift to the old form when praying the rosary or anything else. However, one needs to be in unison when praying in community, so there is no getting around it. Since the Liturgical Hours is the Prayer of the Universal Church, we all follow the wording within.

They have a question box on their main page … I asked for permission to be able to use their site … was emailed with permission and a logon … so they are still letting people who ask sign up … but it’s on a case by case basis.
