What does it mean to live primarily, or rather only, for the Glory of God? It feels like I keep seeing this advice in spiritual reading, in some form or another. Keeping in mind that a lot of people on the forums may be scrupulous, what does it mean to live only for the Glory of God?

I feel like it’s in intentions, but I would love some help in understanding.
 
Basically, that your first question, when faced with a decision, is “does this obey and honor God”.

294 The glory of God consists in the realization of this manifestation and communication of his goodness, for which the world was created. God made us "to be his sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace ",138 for "the glory of God is man fully alive; moreover man’s life is the vision of God: if God’s revelation through creation has already obtained life for all the beings that dwell on earth, how much more will the Word’s manifestation of the Father obtain life for those who see God."139 The ultimate purpose of creation is that God "who is the creator of all things may at last become “all in all”, thus simultaneously assuring his own glory and our beatitude."140

Padre Pio laid out in his five point plan to holiness that doing an examination of conscience every night is very important. One of the benefits to this is that it can help you to reflect and learn what this phrase means, not as an abstract term but specifically in your own life.
 
For example, when a Catholic married couple live their lives after the demands of their married sacramental state and the askings or demands of The Church, whether they realise it or not, they are living all for the Glory of God.
Similarly, when a Catholic person, for example, tries to live as The Church demands or asks in the following of Jesus and His Gospel, they are living all for the Glory of God - and whether he or she understands this or not.

We are sinners and fall daily into sin and imperfection, when one sincerely repents, goes to Confession if necessary, and then goes on trying to live as The Church outlines, they are living all for The Glory of God. Nothing quite illustrates and praises the Infinite and Loving Mercy of The Lord than sin and repentance.

To remain in a state of grace, and do good works, as grace is a participation in the life of God and that action gives glory to God. The purpose of justification is the glory of God and of Christ, and the gift of eternal life.
