Thank God millions have ignored this teaching when necessary.IMHO both. In the OT we see ALOT of violence but I believe in the NT it is all about loving our enemies and not using violence to try and destroy them but using kindness through the power of the Holy Spirit and leave vengeneance to God.

Jesus (PBWH) and Legion
Both are stories of right relationship with God.
Both are from the same house.
Neither are of vengeance.
It is sad that after the second there are still times we need to live by the first.
Pray that we shall be blessed and our descendants only need to live by the second.

sorry it may be more accurate to have said you have Our God wrong, He is not vengeful unless it is sought from Him.
