Living out the Gospel while busy

For those who are busy and don’t have much free time, what do you do to live out Matthew 25?

Well, one thing I would say that is if we are too busy to live out the Gospel, then…WE ARE TOO BUSY!

We can live out the Gospel in little ways- by a timely smile, a sincere yet short prayer for someone in need, by simply listening to a person when you might be tempted to be distracted and cut them short, being committed 100% to always speaking and seeking the truth…diligence in the details of our daily work for the love of God, offering up little sacrifices.

Well, I’m definitely not saying that I’m too busy to live out the Gospel. But commitments to family and work do lead to very little free time.

I’m mainly looking for suggestions on how people with very little free time find ways to perform the corporal works of mercy. What are some practical ways people do this that require less time?

One thing that I recently started doing was volunteering at the homeless shelter in town for just 2-4 hours each month, helping in preparing and serving the lunch-time meals. I’m super glad I did it, even though I’m generally a very shy person in public settings. It’s an honor and great privilege to get the chance to serve Christ in the distressing disguise of the poor. I think God appreciates the smallest of steps we can make, and for myself, I firmly believe it’s time well spent.
