Well, then I hope you see a priest about this. It’s not what Christ asks of us.

This topic makes me think of how attached I am to life and all the creature comforts I enjoy. Like for example:
-morning coffee
-the feeling of a nice warm bath with salts
-the relaxed feeling after a brisk walk
-shopping at the supermarket ( yes I can enjoy just the feeling of “what shall I buy today?”)
-chatting with my partner-chatting with my dog, sharing a laugh
-cornflakes with warm milk
-CAF, but not always
-reading the paper
-driving a car to a coffee shop (ah the simple things)
-watering the garden
-reading either the Bible, or currently Interior Castle and reflecting on new insights
-sleeping on a nice clean bed, with clean sheets
-watching a really in depth doco or bio

I’m just saying how attached I am to life. You need to read the rest of the thread. And how much I like creative writing and imagining what it would truly be like to have one day to live. I’m not suicidal.
Though I am going through some stress recently. I can assure you I would never take my own life and leave my gorgeous wife and dog. Unless they both asked me to go…of course. 🙂

I have read the thread. I’m going to step out of the conversation, because every subsequent post makes it worse.
“Unless they both asked me to go”. 😮

See your priest for clarification. I know you think this is wise and witty, but it is disturbing on a couple of levels. Hyperbole doesn’t translate well to online fora. 😐
God bless.

And I suggest you read everything before jumping to conclusions.

Am I the only person that found nothing alarming in the OP’s post? I did not read this and think it was about suicide. It means what it says. Goodcatholic wants to live each day as if it is his last. And one day it will be.

Just about the only one. I’m giving you “Today’s Best Reader” award. I think I’ll start giving out my own badges from now on.

I added that song for you! Thanks for the “badge!” 🙂

That is my general M.O.

Don’t feel bad. It may yet pass. And if it does not , you may stop noticing, anyways.

I don’t think he is saying it’s wrong. I think he is saying that is what is right.

goodcatholic, I did not expect readers to be alarmed at your Original Post. Keep those good ideas coming.
