My family and I just moved to the San Diego/LA area (Temecula), and I was wondering if anyone knows of a good Parish in the area that is faithful to the Church’s teaching?

Thanks,

Sean

sean - i just moved to Murrieta in december. Went to St. Catherine’s in Temecula during our house hunting visit. The Priest seemed to yell the entire time and quite and few cell phones were ringing during Mass. We ended up at St. Martha’s in Murrieta. Haven’t heard any cell phones and the priest seems nice enough, but it is a very large church - which I am not used to at all. Can’t tell you how orthodox this church is as we have only been to Mass 4 times thus far. But just wanted to let you know of the 2 churches close to your home. Also there is a Catholic school in your town which my kids are attending. Feel free to PM me should you need info. Good luck in your new home!

Wow… don’t know this happens in the US… 😛 It must be bad…

In San Diego itself, try St Charles on Saturn Blvd., it has very good attendance and avoids most of the modern innovations. It is a long way from Murietta though. It gets very crowded and has I believe 7 Massses on Sundays and two on all other days. It has a large Filipino congregation and is a pretty devout place.
if you are interested in the Tridentine Mass try the indult at the Holy Cross cemetery chapel off the 94 and the 805. They have two masses on Sundays at 7 and 9am. They are very well attended and get very crowded. The church in Old Town is also pretty good, but a little too liberal for me.

Try going to the Diocese of San Diego website under “Catholic Institutions” then “Parishes.” You may be able to find a couple of parishes in San Diego county.

Temecula, in Riverside county, isn’t that far from Escondido or Fallbrook in San Diego county. Try Resurrection parish in Escondido and say hi to Deacon Jim from Richard while there.

Actually, you are in neither. You are in Riverside County.
