Hey all
thank you in advance for helping me!
Short version: I am a baptized Baptist, who has been a practicing Pentecostal for 12 years. My husband is a baptized catholic who has been a practicing Pentecostal as well. God recently led us back to the church. Hubby was never confirmed, but wants to be. We have three kids who have always been in church with us, but were never baptized. We are all starting classes in the fall (ccd for kids rcia for hubs and I). The parish told us the kids can be baptized after one year of classes. They are 11, 10, and 7. They said after 2 years the kids can prepare for first holy communion. They are was they have to wait so long, but they will survive.
my concern is that I was told I need proof if my baptism to proceed. The office staff told me that without proof, I cannot proceed with any other sacraments? I almost cried as I don’t think I can find proof. My childhood church has long since dissolved and the pastor has resigned. I have contacted the current office of the church (same secretary as when I was a kid) but I am not hopeful that she will find records from over 20 years ago! Am I really destined to be without the Eucharist forever without this?
Thank you so much…
