Thanks.
Was it “Gods doing” in the Old Testament then or was it that it was natural phenomena even then but that people attributed everything to God?
Eg:there are some stories in the Old Testament that say “God took xyz life to avoid such and such” and as the stories are told from a ‘first hand perspective” the people of the times likely interpreted every illness and death as Gods direct doing.
Then on the other hand,if everything is looked at as just natural phenomena-illness,locusts,natural disaster etc…where does that then leave God?
Did God at some point in history stop having direct involvement/interference with the world or is it like how someone mentioned-it’s natural but God is in the detail-ie:it’s both?
Also what should we make of the other stories of Gods “interfer/intervenance” such as Sodom and Gomorrah and Ananias and wife Sapphira death?
Are these literal events or just “myths” meant as teaching lessons?
Historians apparently even believe that the exodus of Jews from Egypt never happened so it makes me question my belief a bit.
In the modern world though, there are also many cases of innocent people being subjected to suffering and death (eg:children in Syria) so I don’t know is it nature or God…
I probably shouldn’t think so deep
