If anyone can, I’d like suggested reads on the subject for beginners, books and web sources please.

Also, how dependent is part of philosophy on mathematical knowledge? How far should you be along in math to fully grasp all the formulas in logic?

I used Schaum’s Easy Outlines Logic as a supplement when I was taking a logic course. I found it to be pretty helpful. As far as mathematical background, you really don’t need a whole lot unless you are doing symbolic logic.

Here is my professor’s book on Logic, which is availabe free online(philosophy.csusb.edu/~troy/SymbolicLogic1.pdf). It goes from begginer - advanced. Logic and and mathematics definitely complement each other; some would say that mathematics is just logic. For most logic you wouldn’t need any background in mathematics.
