How do you deal with this? I find it ebbs and flows for me. I don’t attend a church since there is no Catholic Church near me so I watch Mass online. I used to be very social and extroverted, but the last 10 or so years i’ve become more introverted. I don’t have children at home anymore and previously, I was a SAHM and homeschooler for 25+ years. I don’t work and have no plans on working. I’m not comfortable going out public anymore, and prefer to be a homebody and enjoy the nature in my backyard. I do everything online so that I don’t have to deal with the general public. I’d also prefer to have online friends rather than in person friends nowadays. I really do enjoy my time at home and prefer it that way. I don’t wish to be in a relationship at all. This does not interest me in the least.
 
There is nothing I can see wrong with your lifestyle, though it would be good if you could find some way to get to Mass. Is it possible for you to move so that you could be closer to a Catholic church?

Online friends can be nice, but it's important to have friends in real life as well, if this is possible for you. Unless your lifestyle is causing you problems of a clinical nature (social anxiety preventing you from real-life contact, or agoraphobia), I can't see that there is anything wrong here.

Thanks for the reply. No moving would not be an option because I would never move from my home. I love the house and the land. There really isn’t any way for me to get to a Catholic church since I have no interest in driving anymore. It would just be nice to have some online friends to talk to.

I really feel that I have been called to be alone. I look at it this way if God wanted me to have people in my life, they would come into my life, but since they haven’t, I’m going to go with the fact that I’m supposed to be alone. I don’t really care to make an effort. It doesn’t seem worthwhile. I don’t feel I’m supposed to have what other people have.

Might you be able to get to Mass just every so often, maybe once a month or so? Get someone to take you, or hire a ride? Better something than nothing.
 
It sounds like you've created a peaceful and fulfilling life that really suits you. Embracing nature, staying connected online, and enjoying your own space shows you’re living authentically and happily. I think it’s great that you know what makes you feel content and choose to honor that.
 
I’ve really come to enjoy spending time online and connecting with others in ways that feel meaningful. Recently, I met someone truly special a pastor I got to know through an online group. He’s incredibly kind, wise, and inspiring, and our conversations have brought me a lot of joy and encouragement.

With Christmas coming up, I wanted to do something thoughtful to show my appreciation. I thought about getting him a clergy jacket since it feels both personal and practical. I’ve been looking through some options on eClergys, but there are so many great choices that I can’t decide! If you have any ideas about which one might be the best, I’d really love your input.
