In a rural parish, we once had a substitute priest who doesn’t usually do a public Mass, and he took almost 3 hours to say the Mass, lol 😱 I also went to him for Confession. Very sagely man.

I think it was a solemn monastic profession at the abbey’s conventual Mass on Pentecost Sunday. Or it could have been an ordination, I can’t recall. This past summer our youngest monk was ordained to the priesthood on the solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul (June 29th) and was also very long, 2+ hours. All in Gregorian chant.

My own oblation was also at the abbey’s Pentecost Mass and was quite long, as there were a few of us making our oblation at the same time.

3 hours easter vigil mass. Gosh that was something.
BUT therr was refreshments and goodies afterward

No problem. Many decades ago, way before I was born, it did used to be called “Mass of the Presanctified” but they did away with that name in the Roman Rite, in 1955.

It does not have a Consecration; Eucharist consecrated at a Mass held before the Friday is used for Holy Communion.

I went to a Holy Thursday mass once at our cathedral and it neared three hours by the time it was over but that was because the mass ended with a processing and exposition of the Blessed Sacrament (which apparently went on through the night).

A Solemn Pontifical Mass of ordination in the extraordinary form that was A little more than 3 hours.

In January I watched the closing Mass at World Youth Day online and that was probably around the 3 hour mark. My son was actually there. They had walked around 15 km’s from Panama City out to the grounds near the airport on the previous day. Then slept on the grass under the stars that night. (Apparently it never rains in Panama at the end of January). Technically you could have called it a 24 hour event!

I once attended a Mass that was so long it lasted…

The Holy Day! (ba dum tsh) 😂

🤣

There’s no emoji for shaking your head in resignation, unfortunately!

Mid night mass when I was 10 years old. And I fell asleep. So maybe it was a short mass.

2 hour and 15 minute Sunday Mass; Ordinary Time, Ordinary form. Went to a local church off the normal beaten path because I was in the area. This was about five years ago. The priest was older but kept going off track in his homily (45 minutes), Also due to his age and girth (no fault of his own) he moved quite slowly. Then came the sign of peace, literally a half hour, where priest and deacon walked into the congregation and began having conversations with people. Parishioners began walking to and fro. I just decided to pray my rosary (the Mass is not yet ended). Communion was equally as chatty. After which was announcements and applause for… something. Then Mass finally ended (Thanks be to God). It started at 10:30 and I remember getting in my car and the clock reading 12:47.
