This thread seems to have gotten majorly derailed from the topic. Back to Easter. I actually am guilty (maybe) in liking Mercy Sunday, the Sunday after Easter, better. Complete freedom from sin and the penalty due to sin! I make a point to feast on that day! I’ve kept Mercy Sunday for many years now.

No love for the Coast Guard?

Back on topic… I love everything about the Feast of Feasts. In my own rite, I love the liturgies of Holy Week, Paschal Matins, and the Divine Liturgy of the feast itself. I love singing the Paschal troparion and the greeting “Christ is Risen!” I love that the feast goes on for 40 days. In the Latin Rite, the first singing of the Alleluia brings chills and the Baptisms of Easter Vigil are particularly beautiful.

we operated with the coasties every once & again; they are true professionals…

but we had a running joke about the USCG

All kidding aside, I spent a year at a DOD school, working and studying alongside members of all of the branches. It was a great time and I met some wonderful people.
 
The Cost Guard helps keep the cost down. The rest of us appreciate it. Hoorah! ⚓
 
The Old Colonel would love to stand here all day handing out hearts but there’s real work to be done! Hoorah! 🧠 up!

I love everything about Easter Sunday. It is the day our Lord and Savior arose from the grave and conquered death.
