should there be any problem for us? This is the situation. I was married outside of the church and left the catholic church for nearly 20 years. I divorced and later married again to also a catholic who was not practiciing. Through the years attending protestant churches and as we matured and studied , we realized that the catholic church was the one true church, we started attending church every Sunday and even during the week. We now want to be married or be blessed in the church. We are a couple in our 50s, and we have no problem abstaining from intamency. We both love the Lord and want to live as he would want us to live. So if we get our non catholic marriages annulled in the church, should there be any doctrinal problems? I pray not. thankyou. barbmikko

Hi,

It doesn’t sound like you would have any problems having those marraiges annuled since you were a Catholic marrying outside the Church. If you refrain from marital relations you may go to Confession and receive Holy Communion even before your marriage is blessed. You are in our prayers.
