Looking for a book...

Hope I’m in the right area. 🙂 I’m looking for a book, or I suppose a trusted website would do, that takes the Old and New Testaments and compares the symbology used between the two of them and shows how the New Testament fulfills many of the prophecies in the Old Testament.

For example, Mary is the “new” Eve or Jesus is the “Passover Lamb”.

I have a hard time reading the Old Testament and I think it would be fascinating and help my understanding of the Bible to take a look at the “ties” between the Old and New Testaments.

Two books come to mind that might help: The Bible and the Liturgy, by Cardinal Jean Danielou, and The Encyclopedia of Biblical Theology by Xavier Leon-Dufour.

You’re welcome, Saved - both books, though, are older ones and probably won’t be found in a bookstore, unless it’s a used-book one. 😉 I have both books and they are excellent; Leon-Dufour’s is especially helpful in looking at the various major themes (and the symbolism involved) in Sacred Scripture.
 
My favorite places to search for used books:

Addall because it searches many different sources and lets you rank the hits by various criteria

and

Abebooks because it lets you put in a “want” and then send you an email if a copy becomes available . . .
 
Saved, I gave you the wrong title for Leon-Dufour’s work; it’s actually The DICTIONARY of Biblical Theology.
 
I was too lazy to go check on this last night, but just have, and there is a great section on typology in The Catholic Sourcebook (ISBN 970159506530) - also sections on things like “Old Testament Prophecies of Christ” and “Divine Names and Titles.”

This is a great book to have on the shelf, I use it frequently for quick checks and almost always find myself distracted by some other interesting bit . . .

Anyone here read: “The Crucified Rabbi: Judaism and the Origins of Catholic Christianity” or “Second Exodus”?

I haven’t read either myself but came across them recently and thinking of picking them up.
