Can anyone recommend a good… faithful… Catholic University with a Master of Fine Arts Graduate program?

I’m an artist looking to continue my MFA degree (3 years Grad school… 3.98 GPA). My desire is to eventually teach and then pursue a Doctorate.

I’ve encountered anti-Catholic bias in the past, and would like to go to a school where I can be more open about the Christian subject matter of my work.

Please help me find a home to pursue my education.

Look into the University of Dallas, I know that they are a Catholic school with graduate studies.

The Franciscan University of Steubenville. 🙂 They are quite orthodox. Dr. Scott Hahn has worked with them from time to time. It also is a beautiful campus. It was my first pick, only we couldn’t afford the private school price.

The Catholic University of America, The Catholic University of America…CUA…can I say it enough? Catholic has a wonderful drama program ( drama.cua.edu no www. thingy) and is a very Catholic school.

Hope it helps

Thank you all for your help. God bless you.

My area of concentration is sculpture. I mainly work with ceramic to make my sculptures, but I also use other materials.

You don’t know how much this means to me at the moment.

If anyone knows of specific faculty I could talk with at a university… or attended one of the universities listed above, then please let me know. I’m very excited and positive about finding a new university.

:blessyou:

I don’t know about sculpture but you may want to look at JPII University and or Ave Maria in Florida.

Well I misunderstood the first time but CUA still has a program for it and its still wonderful (I’m not sure if its still graduate too but it doesn’t hurt to look)

The University of Notre Dame has an excellent MFA program and you can’t beat the campus as far as relgious art goes…it is all over the place. They even have their own art gallery with major exhibitions throughout the year. The degree is demanding and prepares you to teach on a college level.
